Mexican officials have allowed murder suspect Bruce Beresford-Redman to return to the United States.
The former Survivor producer had his passport confiscated and was barred from leaving Mexico after his wife, Monica, was found murdered in Cancun during the couples' vacation in April.
Beresford-Redman's lawyer, Richard Hirsch, told TMZ that his client returned to Los Angeles to be with the couples' two children, Camila, 5, and Alec, 4, after being informed that he is not legally required to remain in Mexico during the rest of the investigation. The children have been in temporary custody with their paternal grandparents since the tragedy occurred.
Hirsch added that his client is "devastated by the loss of his wife, best friend, and the mother of his children. He and his family are requesting that their privacy be respected during this time of great grief and sorrow."
Monica's body was discovered in a sewer near their hotel two days after her husband reported her missing. No charges have been filed.
